Roger and Nancy Wierda

Nancy and Roger—who have been married to each other for 50 years, by the way—are exceptionally pleasant members of our volunteering community. Nancy started first, with Roger to follow a couple years later after he retired.
Nancy credits her ability to learn new things quickly to Christian education. She’s picked up complicated mathematical, financial, and legal knowledge throughout her working life, all because she was well prepared by her early Christian education.
Supporting that cause is very important to both Roger and Nancy. What they like most about it is all the profits from Ditto go directly to students’ tuition.
The Wierdas enjoy working together and with others. Nancy spends her time with jewelry, and Roger usually spends his time sorting incoming items.
They say volunteering is not about giving back—it’s about giving. There is a difference. We’re just glad they’re giving with Ditto.
